HENDERSON, Ky. — Mayor Steve Austin, about to conclude his third term and 12th year as mayor of the City of Henderson, was presented the Henderson Rotary Club’s “Hometown Hero” Award on Thursday, July 28, at the annual State of the City/County program.
The annual program presented by Henderson Chamber of Commerce was a joint meeting of Rotary and the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club and took place at One Life Church.
It was the second award that Mayor Austin has received this year from community partner organizations. In April he was presented with the “Heart of Downtown” Award at the Chamber’s annual meeting. That award has been presented for many years by Downtown Henderson Partnership, which is now a sub-group of the Chamber.
At the meeting, Mayor Austin gave a presentation about the “State of the City,” and Henderson County Judge-executive shared his remarks about the “State of the County.”
