Downtown Christmas lights burning a little longer

HENDERSON, KY, January 8, 2021– If you’ve noticed that the new Christmas garlands and wreaths in Downtown Henderson are still aglow, it’s for a reason.

In response to a statewide movement to leave holiday lights burning in support of local healthcare workers, the City of Henderson has decided to leave the lights up through January.

“We do support our local healthcare workers and the monumental work that they have done since this pandemic began earlier in the spring,” said Mayor Steve Austin. “Leaving the lights burning a little longer is a small thing to do in letting them know the importance of their work and how much we appreciate them, especially in these challenging times.”
