HENDERSON, Ky. -- The arts are alive and well in Henderson, Kentucky - and the historic successes of the Henderson Area Arts Alliance's 25th anniversary season are proof.
This season's "silver anniversary" season has already included two sold-out shows in the same season for the first time in over 20 years. The Arts Alliance also says it has more season ticket holders than it has had in the past 10 years and more single tickets sold than any season since 2004.
The Arts Alliance credits the support of its patrons, as well as donors and sponsors for the success of the season.
"We are able to provide a high caliber of events thanks to our many partners, including our 25th season presenting sponsor Owensboro Health," said Executive Director Alex Caudill. "HAAA is also lucky to have an active and enthusiastic board of directors. We thank all of our supporters for being a part of this truly historic season and look forward to growing with you into the future!"
In 2018 alone, HAAA was able to:
• Award $13,000 in grant funding to art affiliate groups in the community
• Provide programming for 7,500 area students at 21 schools
• Present 19 events
• Support 150 artists
Two shows remain in the 2018-19 season:
March 4, 2019, 7:00 p.m.
This lush production features an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and all the moments you love — the pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball and more — plus some surprising new twists!
April 13, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
Best known for their No. 1 hits like “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” and “If I Didn’t Have You,” this country duo will bring these popular songs, plus a fearless new range of sounds and personality to the Preston Arts Center stage.
