HENDERSON, Ky. -- Preston Arts Center located on the campus of Henderson Community College will host music, dance and theater focused on the holiday season over the next couple of weeks.
--First up is Anthem Lights this Saturday, Dec. 8. The group presented by Henderson Area Arts Alliance will perform Christmas music and their signature medleys of a variety of music genres.
The 7:30 p.m. show will be preceded at 6:30 p.m. by vocal music performed by the Henderson County High School choral program.

--On Sunday, Children's Center for Dance Education will perform "The Children's Nutcracker" at 3 p.m. in McCormick Hall. Tickets are available on-line, www.childdance.org, or at the door.
At 1:30 p.m., PAC will offer a Sugar Plum Fairy Tea and a reading of "The Night Before Christmas." Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com.
--On Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 at 3 p.m., Henderson Community Theatre will present the Frederick Garrigus radio play adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
This new take on the Dickens classic is a live look at a 1950s radio drama troupe telling the story. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (available at the door).
--On Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. the University of Kentucky Jazz Ensemble will stop in for a performance on their way to a national competition in Chicago. Holiday favorites will be mixed in with jazz standards.
The Henderson County High School Band will open the show.
Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of one canned food item to benefit Henderson Christian Community Outreach.
