Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival

For the 27th year, two days of free bluegrass music will be offered on the Henderson riverfront for this weekend's Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival. This year's lineup at Bluegrass in the Park includes Ronnie Reno & the Reno Tradition of Hendersonville, Tenn.; Audie Blaylock and Redline of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two acts from Nashville, Tenn., Sierra Hull and Highway 111 and The Roys; and The Special Consensus of Chicago. The bands Cumberland River and King's Highway will warm up the audience for a Henderson Area Arts Alliance show at the Fine Arts Center on Thursday night (King's Highway) among many others. The Arts Alliance show, with the Del McCoury Band at 7:30 p.m. to kick off the 19th performing arts season at Henderson Fine Arts Center, is the only music event that requires a ticket. (The box office can be reached at 831-9800.) Friday's music starts at 5 p.m.. On Saturday, the music and "Breakfast in the Park" begin at 7 a.m.
