Henderson Police Department is investigating vandalism at the historic Spring Garden Cemetery located behind the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Office on Zion Road. More than a dozen tombstones were knocked over and broken at the cemetery sometime during the past week.
This is the burial place of Revolutionary War officer Lt. Colonel Samuel Hopkins Jr. who is also a founder of Henderson. The property underwent extensive work that was completed in 2011.
