HENDERSON, Ky. – The 32nd-annual Christmas in the Park celebration in downtown Henderson’s historic Central Park is open through the end of December.
There are more than 15,000 lights in the display and the popular cutouts including the Santa Express train, Santa’s Sled, the North Pole Fire Truck, the Castle and the Holiday School Bus. There is also a mailbox for children to use to send their letters to Santa Claus.
Christmas in the Park is presented by the City of Henderson in partnership with the Henderson Breakfast Lions Club. It features more than 30 displays, many of which are interactive.
Central Park is adjacent to the Henderson County Courthouse in downtown Henderson. The park has ample on-street parking. The park terrain is flat making it friendly for strollers and wheelchairs.
Santa will be at his house for visits with children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
