Henderson Flash to open June 2; host families still needed

HENDERSON, Ky. -- Henderson Flash, a summer collegiate baseball team, will report for duty in late May, and team owner/president Clay Bolin is still in search of host families to house the players.

Henderson Flash is a member of the Ohio Valley League, a wooden bat league with eight teams playing throughout Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Teams in the league in addition to Henderson Flash are: Owensboro Oilers, Dubois County Bombers, Muhlenberg Stallions, Hopkinsville Hoppers, Madisonville Miners, Fulton Railroaders and Paducah Chiefs.

Henderson Flash opens on the road at Dubois County on June 1 and plays its first home game at 7 p.m. June 2, also against Dubois County. Home games take place at B.T. Wayne Field. Games will be broadcast on

Players are coming from near and far to play for Henderson Flash. The Flash's players are from: Hendrix College, University of Southern Indiana, Olney Central, Campbellsville University, Union University, William Wood University, Tennessee Wesleyan, Bluefield College, Baldwin Wallace College, Lee University, Asbury College, North Central Missouri, Maryville College, Indiana State and Wallace State.

To host a player:

Any player playing for the Flash that does not live within a reasonable commute will be placed with a host family. All our host families will be interviewed and informed of all requirements prior to being accepted as part of the Flash family. All host families will be required to provide a bedroom to their player along with access to bathroom facilities and washer/dryer for uniforms. Host families are not required to provide food for players.

All host families will be provided season tickets to all Flash home games.
