HENDERSON, Ky. -- Ohio Valley Art League and the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources is presenting the 15th Kentucky National Wildlife Art Exhibit through Nov. 29 at Preston Arts Center.
The exhibit can be viewed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and prior to shows and events at Preston Arts Center.
The reception and awards presentation for the national exhibit is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. Music will be performed by E.J. Simmons.
Juror Kathy Foley, director of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, chose 67 works of two- and three-dimensional works of art for the exhibit. Awards will total $13,000.
The exhibit is funded in part by a grant from Henderson Area Arts Alliance.
The purpose of the Kentucky National Wildlife Art Exhibit is to increase awareness of the preservation of wildlife and to recognize artists who derive inspiration and imagery from wildlife and the environment.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
A display in honor of the exhibit can be seen in the windows of Simon’s Shoes on Main Street.
